Sometimes I Imagine Your Funeral is an overdose awareness short film following Max who prepares to eulogize his sister Chloe just minutes before her funeral while dealing with the anger, frustration, and grief of losing her. This film is based on the writer and director Vince Dixon’s real life experience of losing his sister lauren to an overdose in 2021.

Behind The True Story is a behind-the-scenes documentary highlighting the filmmaking process of the short film & the real people who helped bring this very personal story to life. The 3-day filming journey follows the cast and crew of the film as they talk about how this film came to be and the real-life people impacted by its story

BEHIND THE TRUE STORY
These projects document the behind the scenes creativity of the short film. The hope for each project was to capture the process that Vince and the talented team went through to bring this deeply personal story to life! Vince brought together a team of Los Angeles based and Indianapolis based creatives to film in his home community of central Indiana. The short film follows Max as he processes how to eulogize his sister Chloe, an experience that mirrors Vince’s own.

Currently both the short film and documentary about the short film are being submitted to film festivals in the hopes for wider recognition and distribution. A goal for this film to continue its educational purposes and further spread awareness on overdose prevention.
